Samsung Electronics replaces TV business chief

Samsung Electronics has appointed Lee Won-jin, head of global marketing, as chief of its Visual Display Business and head of the Service Business team in an executive reshuffle announced on May 4. The company said Lee is a content, service and marketing expert who helped build key foundations for its TV and mobile services and strengthened global competitiveness. It added he is expected to lead a turnaround and bolster TV competitiveness.

Samsung Electronics expands spatial signage lineup with 32-inch model

Samsung Electronics on April 28 launched a new 32-inch glasses-free 3D display under its Spatial Signage lineup. The model uses the company’s 3D Plate technology to create depth without dedicated glasses and adds a smaller option after an 85-inch model released earlier this year. Samsung also added new functions to its commercial display management platform, Samsung VXT, including an AI Studio app, scheduling tools and smart downloading.

The push comes as South Korea’s number of marriages rose to 240,000 last year, the highest in seven years, and the share of births within two years of marriage increased to 36.1 percent. Samsung is highlighting AI features designed to reduce household chores and tailoring product options for different housing types.
