Samsung Electronics has tapped Lee Won-jin (이원진), head of global marketing, to lead its Visual Display Business. On May 4, Samsung Electronics carried out an executive reshuffle and appointed Lee, head of global marketing at its DX division, as head of the Visual Display Business and head of the Service Business team.
Samsung Electronics said Lee is a content, service and marketing expert who helped build key foundations for its TV and mobile services businesses and contributed to strengthening its global business competitiveness. It said those efforts demonstrated his capabilities and leadership as a manager. The company said it expects Lee to lead a turnaround in the TV business and strengthen competitiveness by identifying future new growth engines, based on his track record and understanding of the market.
Yong Seok-woo (용석우), head of the Visual Display Business, was appointed as an aide to the head of the DX division. Samsung Electronics said Yong will provide advisory support on future core technologies across its set businesses, including AI and robots, based on his R&D expertise and business experience.
