Samsung Electronics is targeting the North American education market with an interactive display solution that combines a personalised environment for teachers and AI learning tools. Samsung Electronics said on June 29 it unveiled a new solution for education interactive displays at the education technology exhibition ISTE Live 26, held in Orlando, Florida for four days from June 28 local time.

The solution unveiled at the exhibition is the Samsung Account Management Solution (AMS) and the Samsung AI Assistant app. Both solutions can be applied to Samsung Electronics' interactive display lineup based on the Android operating system currently in operation.

The Samsung Account Management Solution lets teachers log in to an interactive display by recognising a QR code or tagging an NFC card. After login, personal settings such as screen layout, wallpaper, bookmarks and app shortcuts are automatically loaded. Even when a teacher moves between classrooms, saved lesson materials can be used as they are, reducing inconvenience in environments where multiple teachers share devices. Education facility IT administrators can register and manage hundreds of devices and teacher accounts in bulk through the separately provided Samsung Education Portal. The solution will be applied to products through a software update in July.

New features were added to the Samsung AI Assistant app. In addition to Circle to Search, which finds related information when a user draws a circle around an image or text on the screen, Live Transcript, which converts voice to text in real time, and AI Summary, which automatically summarises lesson content, it newly includes an AI Quiz function. Teachers can use AI Quiz to generate questions based on actual lesson content and check the class-wide correct answer rate in real time. Live Transcript, which converts multilingual speech into on-screen captions, can be used to improve access to classes for students with hearing impairments or from multicultural families.

Kim Hyung-jae (김형재), vice president of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business, said, "The more advanced the digital education environment becomes, innovation centered on the 'user experience,' not just devices, is essential." He added, "With Samsung education interactive displays, we will provide a more flexible and seamless learning environment for both teachers and students."
