Samsung Electronics' gaming monitors ranked No. 1 globally for a seventh straight year. According to market researcher IDC, Samsung maintained the top spot in the 2025 global gaming monitor market, defined as monitors with refresh rates of 144 Hz or higher, with an 18.9 percent value share. Shipments in the segment totalled 3.1 million units last year, up more than 15 percent from a year earlier. Samsung also held on to first place for a third straight year in the OLED monitor market with a 26 percent value share. OLED monitor shipments totalled 2.34 million units last year, nearly doubling from 2024.

Samsung introduced models including the glasses-free 3D 'Odyssey 3D', the 6K-resolution 'Odyssey G8', the 4K QD-OLED 'Odyssey OLED G8' with a 240 Hz refresh rate, and the 500 Hz OLED 'Odyssey G6'. It took part in the GDC Festival of Gaming 2026, held in San Francisco from March 9 to 13, and showcased new 2026 Odyssey gaming monitor models. Samsung also announced partnerships with global game developers at the event.

Faker (본명 이상혁), an e-sports player for T1, said display performance can determine game results in games where response time is important. He said Samsung's gaming monitors, which continue technological innovation in monitor speed, clarity and picture quality, are optimal monitors for enjoying games.

The content lineup for the Odyssey 3D will also expand. It will support "Hell is Us" in 3D mode within this month, and it plans to increase the number of supported games to at least 120 by the end of this year, including "Chronos: The New Dawn". Samsung is also expanding the application of its 'HDR10+ GAMING' technology, which provides HDR image quality by analysing scenes and frames. It is currently applied to 15 games, including Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 6, Crimson Desert, Borderlands 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and seven development platforms including Unreal Engine.

Lee Heon (이헌), a vice president in Samsung's Visual Display Business, said Samsung has broadened consumer choice this year by significantly expanding new models and services. He said it will continue innovation and ecosystem building to provide the best gaming environment by increasing partnerships with global game companies.
