[DigitalToday reporter Daegeon Seok] Samsung Electronics is bringing works from leading galleries around the world into living rooms through its art TV subscription service, Samsung Art Store. Samsung Electronics said on Sunday it unveiled the 'Art Basel in Basel 2026' collection on Samsung Art Store, based on its partnership with Art Basel, the world's largest art fair.
Samsung Art Store is a Samsung TV-only art subscription service available in more than 117 countries. It offers about 5,000 works in 4K from more than 80 partners and over 800 artists.
The collection consists of 24 works selected by eight galleries. It includes holdings from participating galleries including Mai 36, von Bartha, Skopia and Blue Velvet. Works by three Swiss artists, Thomas Huber (토마스 후버), Tobias Kaspar (토비아스 카스파) and Athene Galiciadis (아테네 갈리시아디스), are also included.
Samsung Electronics will install an Art Wall at Art Basel in Basel 2026, which runs from June 18 to 21, and exhibit the collection using its 2026 Art TV lineup. It will also unveil a collaborative work with visual artist Daniel Arsham (다니엘 아샴), Samsung's new Art TV ambassador. A custom bezel for The Frame Pro designed by Arsham applies a three-dimensional pattern inspired by topographic map data, presenting the TV frame as a sculptural work.
Lee Heon (이헌), a vice president at Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business, said, "We will work to help users enjoy world-class works of art in their daily lives."
