AI chat windows linking portal search and open markets emerge as new commerce battleground

Generative AI chat windows are emerging as a new shopping battleground alongside search portals and open markets, as companies eye conversational commerce as a channel to drive traffic to their own online stores. Lotte Wellfood has launched a dedicated app for “Apps in ChatGPT,” enabling questions and answers in the ChatGPT chat window. Cafe24 has also released an app linking multiple partner brands. The industry is focusing on purchase links that route users to brand sites to expand traffic and data.

JobKorea, Albamon rank No. 1 in job-search platform MAU in first quarter

JobKorea and Albamon, operated by Worxphere, ranked No. 1 among South Korean job-search apps by monthly active users, a survey showed. Joint analysis by JobKorea and Mobile Index found JobKorea logged about 5.54 million MAU in the first quarter, ahead of Saramin, Remember, Incruit and Wanted. JobKorea said job applications rose 13 percent from a year earlier, while Albamon applications increased about 8 percent.

Wiseapp finds teens use learning apps most, people in their 50s favour home shopping

Wiseapp-Retail said on March 31 it analysed the share of users by age group for major mobile apps and found different preferences by age as of February 2026. Users under their teens showed higher use of learning and gaming apps. People in their 20s focused on university, job preparation and content. Those in their 30s used career and self-management apps, while users in their 40s favoured child-related and everyday services. Home shopping apps ranked high among people in their 50s.
