Saramin said on Feb. 9 it is recruiting the first cohort of KoMate Friends, an official supporters group made up of international students for its foreign hiring service KoMate.

Saramin said it plans to use KoMate Friends to promote KoMate widely among foreigners and to deliver tips on finding work in Korea based on real job-seeking experience, positioning the service as an essential guide and companion for employment in South Korea.

Applicants must be international students enrolled at universities or graduate schools in South Korea. Anyone who can communicate basically in Korean and is interested in finding work in Korea and producing content can apply.

Selected KoMate Friends will begin with a launch event in March and will work for 8 weeks as KoMate ambassadors. Key activities include hands-on experience with KoMate services, producing content using social media to share information on getting a job in Korea and promote KoMate, and completing team assignments.

A KoMate official at Saramin said, "For KoMate, South Korea's leading foreign hiring platform, to continue growing as the most trusted platform, we think it is most important to broaden contact points with international students, who are the actual job-seeking demand, and to listen to their voices, which is why we launched the supporters group." The official added, "We hope many passionate international students who dream of career growth in Korea will apply."
