KoMate, a foreign recruiting platform operated by Saramin, said on Feb. 20 it signed a business agreement with Hanyang University to support foreign students' employment.

The agreement was pursued as part of a collaboration programme under Seoul's Regional Innovation System and University Support System (RISE) initiative. It aims to strengthen foreign students' job skills and build an efficient management system for international students.

The two sides plan to combine KoMate's IT capabilities in recruitment with Hanyang University's talent pool, one of the domestic universities with the largest number of international students. They aim to build an innovative model to help students build skills and get jobs at South Korean companies.

The two sides agreed to work closely on jointly developing a monitoring system for managing foreign students' employment, providing tailored job preparation programmes, and other matters needed for mutual development.

A KoMate official said the cooperation with Hanyang University would be an opportunity for KoMate to expand beyond a recruitment platform into a standard solution for managing foreign talent. The official said the effort would help students fully demonstrate their capabilities and enable the school to build an environment to manage international students efficiently and provide convenience, serving as a bridge linking South Korean companies and foreign talent.
