Career platform Saramin introduced a "resume file conversion agent," it said on Sept. 29.

Saramin's resume file conversion agent converts resumes, portfolios and personal statements that job seekers have in file form into Saramin's standard format, the company said.

It supports various formats including HWP, DOC, PPT and PDF. The converted resume can be used to apply directly to job postings on Saramin.

When a user uploads a resume file, AI automatically starts the conversion process. The resume file conversion agent analyses existing resume items and communicates with the user to fill required fields such as employer, period of experience, major and competencies.

After conversion, users can move directly to "AI Document Acceptance Coaching" to upgrade the resume. AI analyses the resume, compares the job seeker's experience and skills with the posting the user wants to apply to, and coaches the user on how to improve. It tells users the strengths and weaknesses of their resume versus competitors, measures fit with the desired role and suggests improvements to raise the chances of acceptance.

A Saramin official said, "We reduced the burden for job seekers of managing scattered resumes and portfolios, and helped them prepare more easily for document screening through AI coaching." The official added, "In the second half of this year, we hope they will succeed in finding jobs by using Saramin's various job preparation services, including the resume file conversion agent."
