Comate, a foreign hiring platform operated by Saramin, launched a "visa points calculator" service for foreign talent, it said on Tuesday.

Using the calculator, users can check whether they meet complex visa issuance requirements that are difficult to determine individually by entering only conditions that affect visa issuance, including age, education, income, Korean language proficiency and work experience.

Comate said it introduced the visa points calculator to provide an easy, simple and clear visa guide for foreign job seekers who have found it difficult to judge whether they meet visa eligibility requirements due to complex scoring systems and annually changing policies.

The company said visas that can currently be checked through Comate's visa points calculator total 7: D-8-4 (technology start-up), D-9-1 (points-based trade management), D-10-1 (general job seeking), E-7-4 (skilled technical workforce), E-7-S2 (advanced industry sector), F-2-7 (residency for outstanding talent) and F-5-11 (ability in specific fields).

A Comate official said, "Visas are a key issue that foreign talent first face in order to live in our country and enter the hiring market." The official added, "We expect Comate's visa points calculator to help ease foreigners' anxiety and support successful career planning."
