Musk says HW3 upgrades needed as Tesla still mulls FSD plan

Tesla rolls out FSD v14 Lite for HW3, still without unsupervised self-driving

Tesla has begun rolling out Full Self-Driving (FSD) v14 Lite for HW3 vehicles, marking the first large-scale update for about 4 million cars stuck on FSD v12.6 since early 2025. The update is initially for early-access users and aims to bring v14 driving behavior to HW3 hardware. Tesla and executives say safety and several functions have improved, but it remains a supervised Level 2 driver-assistance system and does not enable unsupervised self-driving.
