Seoul YMCA asks broadcasting commission to investigate KT over alleged hacking cover-up

Seoul YMCA requested that the Korea Communications Commission investigate whether KT engaged in consumer deception. It alleged KT concealed its own hacking incident while recruiting customers during the SK Telecom hacking case. It cited a government public-private joint probe that said KT disposed of 41 infected servers between March and July last year. The group called for sanctions, including halting new customer sign-ups until network safety is secured, and said penalty-fee waivers are a minimum measure to protect users.
