VCNC, operator of mobility platform Tada, said on Monday it will expand the scale of the Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi service. It will also run a Tada event for expectant mothers who are pregnant.
VCNC plans to expand the number of Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi vehicles it operates with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to as many as 500 throughout the year. That is an increase of 200 from about 300 last year. The company will start a pilot in the first quarter using vehicles equipped with 2 child car seats.
Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi users will receive a basic 5,000 won coupon. Large families or single-parent families will receive an additional 5,000 won coupon. After getting out of the vehicle, users will also be given a separate 5,000 won coupon that can be used only for reservations. The Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi service can be applied for through the Seoul Metropolitan Government's integrated pregnancy, childbirth and childcare portal, Mongttang Information Master Key.
VCNC also launched its own promotion for pregnant women, called Tada for Expectant Mothers. The promotion provides coupons to pregnant women who live in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Users can use transportation cost points supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government for pregnant women. This year, the company expanded eligibility to include pregnant women living in Gyeonggi Province, reflecting user requests.
A Tada official said, "Over the past year operating the 'Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi', we have worked closely with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to reflect requests from large families for additional child car seats in the service." The official added, "Based on the Seoul Metropolitan Government's active administrative support, we will work to innovate the mobility experience for families raising children and pregnant women, and provide convenient mobility services that people can feel in everyday life."
