Ledger CEO says crypto wallets have no total safety, design to prevent mistakes is key

Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier said hardware wallet security cannot be solved by user vigilance alone and that “total safety” does not exist. He said makers should design systems that remain secure even when users make mistakes, citing incidents in the hardware wallet industry including CoinKite’s Coldcard and a subsequent bitcoin theft tally. He also pointed to a Trezor customer data exposure and urged continuous testing rather than accepting security claims at face value.

KT to invest 127.6 billion won in information security

KT said on Tuesday it invested 127.6 billion won in information security in fiscal 2025, keeping annual spending above 100 billion won for four consecutive years. The company said the amount ranked third domestically among single firms and was the largest among telecom operators. KT said it has 317 dedicated security staff, including 164 in-house specialists, and is strengthening governance, training and prevention-focused security.

Korea Fujifilm BI appoints Shigeta Kotake as new president and CEO

Korea Fujifilm Business Innovation said it appointed Shigeta Kotake (小竹 茂太) as its new president and CEO, effective July 1. Kotake has worked at Dentsu Soken and global consulting firm BearingPoint, carrying out projects in IT, new business strategy and supply chain management. After joining Fujifilm BI in 2007, he handled manufacturing sales and marketing, solution development and business consulting, and led strategy and M&A in New Zealand and Australia.
