[DigitalToday reporter Dae-geon Seok] Global optical solutions company Zeiss said on Wednesday it has appointed Dr Janne Jehuzens (야네 제후젠) as head of its South Korea unit.

Jehuzens joined Zeiss in 2012 and went on to lead special operations projects, serve as a manufacturing project manager and head industrial excellence. From 2021, Jehuzens led supply chain management for the semiconductor division, overseeing strategic sourcing of manufacturing and non-manufacturing materials, supplier development, supply quality and export controls.

For Germany-based Zeiss, South Korea is a strategic hub for cooperation in semiconductors, advanced manufacturing and healthcare. In that context, Jehuzens plans to strengthen coordination with existing customers and partner companies in South Korea and solidify the company’s position in the domestic semiconductor ecosystem.

Frank Romund (프랑크 로문트), CEO of Zeiss’ semiconductor division, said Jehuzens has contributed in a key way to the company’s success since joining Zeiss in 2012. He said Jehuzens will further strengthen Zeiss Korea’s performance and lead its growth momentum.

Jehuzens said he is pleased to take on a new role in South Korea, which he described as a hub of diverse innovative technologies and playing an important role in the semiconductor industry. He said he will strengthen cooperation with customers in South Korea, drive sustainable growth and help build Zeiss’ continued success.
