Emro, an artificial intelligence-based supply chain management software company, said on Sunday it has nominated Jo Sang-won (조상원), an executive at Samsung SDS, as its new chief executive.
Jo is currently an other non-executive director on Emro's board and a specialist who oversaw global sales and marketing for the supplier relationship management (SRM) software-as-a-service solution Caidentia, jointly developed with Samsung SDS.
Emro said the appointment will increase strategic cooperation synergies between Emro and Samsung SDS and accelerate efforts to target global markets including North America and Europe. Jo will join Emro from Sunday and begin the practical management handover process. Emro will complete the legal appointment process through an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders and a board meeting in July.
Song Jae-min (송재민), Emro's current chief executive, will step down after completing a three-year term agreed at the time of Samsung SDS's acquisition of Emro in May 2023. Song plans to work as an adviser after stepping down and provide consulting for management succession and business growth.
