Hecto Healthcare\'s Desimone ranks No. 1 in 2026 Brand of the Year awards probiotics category

Hecto Healthcare said on Wednesday its probiotics brand Desimone was selected as the top brand in the probiotics category at the 2026 Brand of the Year awards. The awards are hosted by the Korea Consumer Brand Committee, with consumers choosing representative brands each year. About 770,000 people took part in category voting via online and telephone surveys this year. The company said products made with the Desimone Formula are backed by 469 international papers and are sold in 40 countries.

Samsung Galaxy Watch expands from personal health management to family monitoring tool

Samsung Electronics is expanding the Galaxy Watch’s health management features from individuals to families by adding family profiles to Samsung Health and linking Samsung accounts. Users can selectively share metrics such as steps, sleep, heart rate, blood pressure and blood glucose so relatives can monitor changes and respond. Samsung also highlighted heart-health scoring and sleep-time vital signs tracking, and cited regulatory approvals and cases where alerts prompted medical care.

Hecto Group joins state project to develop AI medical devices for early lung cancer detection

Hecto Group is developing AI medical devices to help detect lung cancer early and predict recurrence through a state-backed digital healthcare project. Its HAI unit joined the OnKoTECT consortium led by Seoul National University Bundang Hospital under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy\'s Bio Industry Technology Development programme. The consortium will receive 15.5 billion won in research funding through December 2030 to develop and commercialise AI for early diagnosis and recurrence prediction of pancreatic and lung cancers.
