Park Kwan-ho of Wemade says 2026 is harsh survival turning point, urges move beyond MMORPGs

Wemade Chairman Park Kwan-ho labelled 2026 the company’s harshest survival turning point since its founding and announced a high-intensity overhaul. He said the current crisis stems from a structural contraction in the MMORPG market and warned past success formulas can no longer secure the future. Wemade plans to diversify beyond a single genre and push global expansion, including simultaneous launches on platforms such as Steam and consoles. Park also promised sweeping reforms to corporate culture, HR processes and performance evaluations, and called AI adoption a condition for survival.
