NC AI said on Monday it formed a consortium with MBC, NHN Cloud and DataMaker and was selected for a media-sector task under the “AI Transformation (AX) One-Stop Voucher” program hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA).
The AX One-Stop Voucher program is a government initiative that provides integrated support in voucher form for AI solutions, cloud and data to help companies pursue AX and deliver results.
The consortium plans to build a media ontology system that integrates understanding of people, speech, emotions and scene context in broadcast video, and develop a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform to support the entire post-production process. The target applications are context-aware AI editing, AI multilingual dubbing and AI audio description for the visually impaired.
NC AI will serve as the core technology developer, responsible for ontology engine design and development, AI model fine-tuning, and SaaS platform and API development. It plans to integrate and apply its media-focused AI solution, VARCO, to the production workflow.
Yeon-su Lee (이연수), CEO of NC AI, said, “We will lead AX in Korea’s media industry with media ontology and multimodal AI technologies specialized for broadcast content, and contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of K-content.”
