Woori Financial Group's Woori Financial Future Foundation will provide cooling supplies to help Seoul households vulnerable to heatwaves get through the summer.

The foundation said on June 16 it held a donation ceremony for summer cooling supplies on June 15 at Junglim Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Jung-gu, Seoul.

The support is part of an energy assistance program worth 400 million won that the foundation is carrying out with the Seoul Council on Social Welfare. Of that, it will spend 200 million won on items to prepare for summer heatwaves to support 2,527 low-income households in Seoul that are vulnerable to energy hardship.

The foundation plans to deliver the supplies in stages through the Seoul Council on Social Welfare, reflecting demand by district.

Cho Hye-jin (조혜진), a manager at the Woori Financial Future Foundation, said heatwaves could directly burden the health and daily lives of energy-vulnerable households, making proactive support important. She said the foundation would continue field-focused social contribution activities.
