KT said on Monday it has overhauled its Genie TV All G IPTV plan to expand offerings of terrestrial and general programming channel video-on-demand (VOD).
The renewed Genie TV All G will be launched on June 30. It will cost 19,800 won a month, based on an internet-plus-IPTV bundle and a three-year contract, and offer about 250 live channels as well as the latest movies, TV dramas and entertainment, overseas series and animation.
With the overhaul, Genie TV All G subscribers will be able to watch the latest drama and entertainment VOD from three terrestrial broadcasters and four general programming channels right after the live broadcast. KT said it has reduced the burden on customers by integrating broadcast VOD into a single plan that previously required per-episode purchases or monthly subscriptions by broadcaster.
It will also provide upcoming content along with the latest movies. Viewers can watch on smartphones and tablets through the Genie TV Mobile app, and the service supports continuing viewing between TV and mobile.
Kim Byung-jin (김병진), head of KT's media business division and an executive director, said, "Through Genie TV All G, we will provide a wide range of content including the latest movies and broadcasts." He added, "We will continue to expand the value of immersion and emotion delivered by proven content."
