KCA overhauls Information Security Risk Manager and Information Security Competency Test
The Korea Communications Agency (KCA) said on April 13 it will overhaul eligibility requirements for the Information Security Risk Manager certification and change how the Information Security Competency Test is awarded. From 2026, anyone with information security risk management capability will be able to apply, without separate limits such as education or career history. The competency test will move to a 900-point system with no grades, recognizing total scores to improve differentiation.

KCA to run \'Ultra Gap Korea Pavilion\' at Japan IT Week Spring in Tokyo
Korea Communications Agency (KCA) said it will operate the Ultra Gap Korea Pavilion at Japan IT Week Spring, held at Tokyo Big Sight from April 8 to 10. The event is Japan’s largest integrated IT trade show, with four expos running simultaneously covering AI and business automation, software and app development, IoT solutions and information security. KCA will showcase five startups and run a separate promotion hall for 40 firms.

KCA recruits policy promotion group for digital transition of personal radios
Korea Communications Agency (KCA) said on Monday it is recruiting a public participation policy promotion group to publicise the policy ending use of analogue personal radios. Production, imports and sales of analogue personal radios are currently banned, and KCA said promotion is needed to prevent harm from illegal distribution or purchases. The group will create and post social media content and monitor illegal online sellers. Participants will receive activity allowances, certificates and awards.
