South Korea's National Assembly Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee has confirmed its schedule for this year's annual audit. Audits of agencies under its jurisdiction, including the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Broadcast Media Communications Commission, the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission and the Korea Aerospace Administration, will run from Oct. 6 to 23.

The committee held a plenary meeting on Sept. 15 and approved a motion to adopt the "2026 annual audit plan".

On the first day of the audit on Oct. 6, the committee will audit the Ministry of Science and ICT and affiliated bodies, including the Postal Service and the National Science Museum, at the National Assembly. It will then visit the site of the planned launch of the Nuri rocket's fifth vehicle at Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province, for 2 days from Oct. 7.

On Oct. 12, it will audit the Broadcast Media Communications Commission and the Broadcast Media Communications Review Commission at the National Assembly. On Oct. 13, the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission and the Korea Aerospace Administration will be audited at the same venue.

On Oct. 15, ICT public institutions including the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), the Korea Communications Agency (KCA), the National Information Society Agency (NIA) and the Korea Data Agency (K-DATA) will be audited at the National Assembly.

On Oct. 16, audits will be held in Sangam and at the National Assembly. In the morning, MBC will give a closed-door briefing on its work status in Sangam. In the afternoon, an annual audit will be held for media-related bodies including KBS, EBS, the Foundation for Broadcast Culture, the Korea Community Media Foundation and the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corp. Audits of directly supervised agencies and government-funded research institutes, including the National Science & Technology Research Council (NST), will be held in Daejeon on Oct. 20.

The committee will wrap up this year's annual audit schedule with comprehensive audits at the National Assembly on Oct. 22 and 23. The Oct. 22 session will cover the Broadcast Media Communications Commission and the Broadcast Media Communications Review Commission, while the Oct. 23 session will cover the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission and the Korea Aerospace Administration, among others.
