Govt GPU second-round bidding draws five contenders, Coupang re-entry in focus

South Korea\'s second round of government support for graphics processing units has attracted five bidders, including first-round winner Naver Cloud and first-round loser Coupang, both re-entering. KT Cloud, Samsung SDS and Elice Group joined as new participants. The science ministry set evaluation criteria including economic feasibility, large scale, direct clustering, latest GPUs and service launch within the year. Officials plan evaluations and site inspections in April and May before selecting operators in May.

Korea Post, Customs Service to operate second line of drug screening at inland logistics hubs

The Ministry of Science and ICT\'s Postal Service and the Korea Customs Service will begin operating a “second line” of drug screening at inland logistics hubs from April 1 to block narcotics smuggling through international mail. Mail that has undergone a first inspection at airports and ports will be checked again with X-ray reading and package opening inspections at inland mail centers. All international mail will pass through five key hubs nationwide.

Coupang Fulfillment Service holds job fair in Daegu, draws 335 applicants

Coupang Fulfillment Service (CFS) said 335 job seekers applied at a recruitment fair it held on March 26 at Yeungnam College of Science and Technology in Daegu. Fulfillment centres in Daegu and Gyeongsan joined the hiring to meet labour demand tied to rising Rocket Fresh logistics in the Yeongnam region. Roles included inbound and outbound work, inspections, forklift driving and on-site management. CFS plans another large job fair in Bucheon on April 21.
