Baemin expands online sales channels for traditional markets with up to 60 percent discounts on 36 items
Woowa Brothers, operator of Baedal Minjok (Baemin), is expanding online sales channels for traditional market products. The company said on Tuesday it will run a nationwide promotion with the Korea Federation of Traditional Market Merchants. The event, held in Baemin’s “Nationwide Specials” commerce service, will sell 36 items delivered by parcel from participating markets and groups. It also offers first-come coupons through July 27.

Postmen to check on residents and help with surveys as Korea Post expands public role
Korea Post is expanding the role of postmen to act as a “last mile” in national administration, including identifying welfare blind spots and carrying out administrative checks. It shifted from one-off disaster response to a permanent delivery system for welfare and administrative services after introducing “welfare mail” in 2022. Legal grounds were strengthened in May through an amendment. Projects also include statistical surveys and environmental collection efforts such as unused medicines and e-cigarettes.

XLA8, a company specialising in AI simultaneous interpretation and translation, said on Tuesday it will supply its real-time AI interpretation solution, EventCAT, to the 30th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. Audiences, including film and video industry participants, will be able to follow real-time communication on venue screens at the BIFAN+ opening ceremony on July 4 and the awards ceremony on July 7 without renting dedicated receivers. Users can set subtitle size and languages via QR code.
