LG HelloVision said on March 23 it signed a memorandum of understanding with Bucheon University to foster local talent and strengthen industry-academia cooperation. The signing ceremony took place on March 20 at Bucheon University’s Millennium Hall in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, attended by LG HelloVision executive director Ki-young Son (손기영), head of the media business, and Bucheon University vice president Jun-hyuk Choi (최준혁), among others.

The agreement focuses on linking with the Regional Innovation-centered University Support System, or RISE, programme. It is a growth model promoted by the Ministry of Education to link regions and universities, with a focus on nurturing talent tied to local industries. The two sides will cooperate on training local talent, providing field placements and job support; producing content for the RISE programme and jointly planning programmes; and pursuing joint projects in education, entrepreneurship and content.

Son said, "We will support young talent so they can build experience in content production and develop understanding of and affection for their region."
