Coupang Fulfillment Service (CFS) said on March 29 that it held a job fair on March 26 at the Cheonma Gymnasium of Yeungnam College of Science and Technology in Daegu and received applications from 335 job seekers.

Fulfilment centres located in Daegu and Gyeongsan jointly took part in the recruitment to prepare for labour demand driven by increased Rocket Fresh logistics in the Yeongnam region.

The roles include inbound, outbound, inventory inspection, returns inspection, forklift operation and on-site logistics managers. Coupang Fulfillment Service operated a one-stop recruitment system that let applicants complete job counselling and on-site interviews, and supported services such as free ID photo shoots.

Coupang Fulfillment Service and Yeungnam College of Science and Technology have been working to identify local talent since signing an industry-academia cooperation agreement in September last year. More than 1,000 applicants attended two job fairs held at the college last year.

Coupang Fulfillment Service currently operates fulfilment centres in major areas within the Daegu region, including Daegu, Gyeongsan and Chilgok. The Daegu fulfilment centre in the National Industrial Complex in Dalseong County, Daegu, is operated using artificial intelligence-based automated robot technology.

Park Su-hyeon (박수현), chief human resources officer at Coupang Fulfillment Service, said, "Daegu is a core area for a nationwide logistics system that covers the southern region." Park said, "We will continuously expand jobs and contribute to revitalising the local economy."

Coupang Fulfillment Service also plans to hold a large-scale job fair in Bucheon on April 21, following the Daegu event.
