Samsung Electronics Service will operate emergency repair services during the Chuseok holiday period.

Samsung Electronics Service said on Monday it will provide repair services for phones, tablets and wearable devices at 9 weekend care centres nationwide on Sept. 26-27 by advance reservation. Service centres will be closed on Sept. 24, the first day of the holiday, and on Chuseok Day on Sept. 25.

The 9 weekend care centres are Samsung Gangnam in Seoul, Hongdae in Seoul, Jung-dong in Bucheon, Seongnam, Guseong in Yongin, Daejeon, Gwangsan in Gwangju, Namdaegu and Dongnae in Busan. Reservations can be made through the Samsung Electronics Service website and contact centre. Operating hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Samsung Gangnam service centre will operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Eleven "Baro Service" outlets located in Samsung Stores will also provide services such as simple smartphone checkups and attachment of protective films on Sept. 26-27.

During the holiday period, contact centre counsellors and visiting service engineers will work under an emergency duty system. Visiting service will also be provided in urgent situations such as abnormal freezing or refrigeration functions in refrigerators. Samsung Electronics Service said it will post on its website product-specific self-diagnosis methods, frequently asked questions and self-help solutions in preparation for the holiday, and plans to support an AI chatbot service.
