Nexon Blue Archive holds first charity run as 4,500 take part in Misa
Nexon held an offline charity run with users of its subculture game Blue Archive, aiming to put the game’s intellectual property to positive use. The company said it wrapped up its first offline charity running event, Kibotos Run 2026, on June 15. The participatory event took place on June 14 at Misagyeongjeong Park in Hanam, Gyeonggi province, marking 4.5 years of Blue Archive’s global service, with 4,500 users running a 5-km course alongside on-site programs.

The cases share a fragile business model in which early monetisation failures quickly trigger reduced operations, cash squeezes and staff departures. A tougher funding climate, higher fixed labour costs and widening AI-driven productivity gaps with large developers are also adding pressure.

Nexon says no layoffs, 2027 target adjustment is a timeline issue
Nexon on Monday rejected the possibility of workforce cuts during a capital markets briefing in Tokyo and detailed its stance on 2027 targets and cost structure improvements. Chairman Patrick Soderlund said there are no plans for layoffs. CFO Shiro Uemura said the company aims to redeploy staff through pipeline adjustments rather than restructuring. CEO Jung-heon Lee said it wants to maintain project-based incentive pay while applying sharper standards to overall labor costs.
