Nexon Games will support cultural and arts creation by providing its game intellectual property to other industries.
Nexon Games said on Sunday it signed a memorandum of understanding on June 26 with the Nexon Foundation and the Korea Ceramic Foundation to promote the "Borderless: Craft Archive" project. Under the agreement, the three will jointly pursue the production and exhibition of works using the Blue Archive IP, as well as hands-on programs for visitors.
"Borderless" is a social contribution project by the Nexon Foundation that highlights the cultural and artistic value of games. It supports activities that provide the foundation's game IP to creators and connect it to artworks.
The collaboration involves 6 craft artists from ceramics, metal, woodworking, glass, mother-of-pearl inlay and textiles. They will plan and produce works based on the Blue Archive IP. Nexon Games will handle joint review and production consulting under the agreement throughout the production process.
The completed works are scheduled to be unveiled at the "2026 Gyeonggi Craft Festa" to be held from Oct. 23 to Nov. 1 at the Gyeonggi Craft Creation Support Center in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province. During the event, works by the 6 craft artists will be exhibited and hands-on programs for general visitors and game users will also be operated.
Kim Yong-ha (김용하), an executive at Nexon Games, said it was meaningful that Blue Archive would expand into a new form through the craft artists' interpretations. He said he hoped the collaboration would provide an opportunity to experience the Blue Archive IP in more diverse ways.
Kim Jung-wook (김정욱), chairman of the Nexon Foundation, said it would work to spread the cultural and artistic value of game IP widely. Ryu In-kwon (류인권), head of the Korea Ceramic Foundation, added he hoped the cooperation would broaden the base of the craft culture industry and lead to a new audience.
Nexon Games also plans to continue to share the production process and scenes from the event through its own channels.
