LG Energy Solution steps up battery software business for SDV era
LG Energy Solution is stepping up its battery software business ahead of the shift to software-defined vehicles, it said on Thursday. The company said it joined SDVerse, a vehicle software B2B platform led by GM, Canada’s Magna International and Wipro, becoming the first battery maker on the marketplace. LG Energy Solution introduced five software solutions, including battery platform software and tools for safety diagnostics and battery-state diagnosis and prediction.

K-batteries signal rebound on Europe security logic
South Korean battery makers that have hit an earnings bottom are expected to rally as Europe pushes energy security and seeks to reduce dependence on Chinese batteries. LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI and SK On kept combined market share in the 30 percent range in Europe in January. A proposed EU Industrial Accelerator Act would tighten conditions on some large third-country investors while easing rules for FTA partners such as South Korea, potentially limiting China’s direct investment.

Samsung Display completes panel-integrated privacy display technology
Samsung Display said on Wednesday its smartphone OLED using its panel-integrated privacy technology, Flex Magic Pixel, passed UL Solutions\' \"privacy display\" verification. UL Solutions measured brightness reduction by tilting panels at 45 degrees and 60 degrees and rotating them 360 degrees. Side luminance was 3.5 percent at 45 degrees and 0.9 percent or less at 60 degrees versus the front. Samsung Display said it built the technology by changing the black matrix structure and applying its LEAD OLED technology.
