Memory chip inventories hit bottom as supply shortages deepen

Memory chip inventories have hit bottom, with DRAM at 2 to 3 weeks and NAND at about 6 weeks, leaving both suppliers and customers short. Despite maximum production since October, limited capacity utilisation is making it hard to rebuild stock. Tight supply is driving aggressive price increases, and analysts expect supplier leverage to persist through the first quarter of 2026. After the second quarter, capital spending decisions could shift the cycle and affect supply-demand conditions into 2027.
