Woori Bank shakes off first-half slump, posts record third-quarter net profit

Woori Bank rebounded from weak first-half results, posting a record quarterly net profit of 1.03 trillion won in the third quarter, up 22 percent from the previous quarter. Nine-month net profit rose 4.7 percent from a year earlier to 2.40 trillion won. Higher interest income from expanded corporate lending, stronger non-interest income and lower loan-loss provisions supported results. Its net interest margin fell and delinquency indicators worsened.

Hana Securities Q3 net profit 10.1 billion won, down 83.88 percent on year

Hana Securities\' third-quarter profit fell sharply from both the previous quarter and a year earlier, Hana Financial Group said. Net profit was 10.1 billion won, down 94.04 percent from the prior quarter and 83.88 percent from a year earlier, while revenue rose from a year earlier but fell from the previous quarter. For January-September, revenue and profits increased year on year, but third-quarter operating profit made up about 5.8 percent of the nine-month total.
