Wavve introduces multiview, live chat for golf livestreams

Wavve said on Wednesday it will add multiview and live chat functions to its golf livestreams. The features will be offered in beta starting with the KLPGA KB Financial Golden Life Championship and the KPGA Shinhan Donghae Open, which begin on Sept. 10. From Sept. 13, Wavve will also add a field camera feed for KLPGA final rounds, supporting up to 2 screens on TV and 3 on mobile, tablets and PCs.

TVING announces compensation plan after leak of 39.54 million accounts

TVING, which suffered a leak involving personal data from about 39.54 million accounts, announced a compensation package including 5,000 won worth of points, a premium viewing upgrade, insurance against hacking and phishing, and entertainment coupons. The company put the perceived value at about 20,000 won per person, but it is not cash. Users who have withdrawn must rejoin to receive compensation, and the application window runs from Sept. 7 to 30.

OTT industry speeds monetisation using sports content beyond ads and into paid products

South Korea\'s OTT platforms are accelerating efforts to monetise sports content, including paid products, as major matches boost daily active users. Mobile Index data showed Coupang Play and Tving saw sharp spikes tied to football and KBO baseball. Coupang Play is selling a separate sports pass and linking it to ticket presales. Tving is using KBO to expand long-term users and grow subscription and advertising revenue.
