[DigitalToday reporter Seul-gi Son] Online video service (OTT) Wavve said on Thursday it will launch an audio mode service called “Listen Form” that lets users listen to video content without a screen.

Listen Form is a service that plays video content such as dramas, entertainment, news, educational and kids programming as audio. Users can switch between video and audio modes with a single button in the player. Playback continues even with the screen locked or a smartphone kept in a pocket.

It also offers a resume feature that starts again from the last playback point and a timer function that stops playback at a set time.

Wavve also operates a “Listen Form special section” that collects audio-only and tailored content. It plans to roll out EBS lectures and language-learning content, audiobooks, and mystery and forensic YouTube content in stages.

Listen Form will be offered first on mobile devices and tablets.

A Wavve official said, “We strengthened the audio experience so users can access content even at moments when it is difficult to watch a screen, such as during commuting or before going to sleep.”
