Circle buys IBM blockchain patents, becoming largest U.S. holder
Circle has acquired key assets in IBM\'s blockchain patent portfolio, becoming the largest holder of blockchain patents in the United States. The deal value was not disclosed. The acquired assets comprise more than 680 patent families, with about 1,000 individual patents registered worldwide. The scope covers banking, financial services, insurance, enterprise infrastructure, supply chain authentication and secure cloud operations. Circle said it will use the assets to strengthen projects tied to USDC, Circle Payments Network and its enterprise blockchain Ark.

China and Thailand are moving ahead in reshaping the global auto industry by using domestic electric vehicle rollout policies to build export competitiveness, an analysis said. The key is the pace of electrification at home rather than export results alone. China’s plans target a sharp rise in new energy vehicles on its roads, supporting scale, learning effects and supply chains. Thailand is adjusting incentives toward export compensation as it becomes an EV export base.

SKC Q2 operating loss of 14.4 billion won narrows 79 percent year-on-year
SKC posted second-quarter sales of 645.4 billion won and an operating loss of 14.4 billion won, it said on Sunday. Sales rose 38.3 percent from a year earlier and the operating loss narrowed 79.0 percent. EBITDA was 29.1 billion won, about triple the previous quarter, remaining positive for a second quarter. The company completed a 1.16 trillion won rights issue and said net debt and leverage fell sharply.
