KFTC starts review of alleged Google app market abuse over GVP contracts

South Korea\'s Fair Trade Commission has begun deliberations over allegations that Google abused its dominant position in the app market. The case focuses on GVP contracts signed with 22 major game companies from 2019 that required most-favoured terms for the Google Play Store in timing and quality, in return for support for premium services. The watchdog’s staff proposed corrective orders and a fine that could reach up to 6 percent of relevant revenue.

OneStore launches One Webshop D2C payments, supports multiple platforms

OneStore launched its direct-to-consumer payment service, One Webshop, on June 8, expanding its platform business. The web-based D2C payment infrastructure integrates app distribution and web payments in a single platform, allowing developers to start a webshop through the OneStore Developer Center. OneStore said developers can sell game items for an 8 percent fee including payment gateway charges. Users can access the service through multiple channels and use it on Android, iOS and PC.

Wemade Connect launches subculture title \'Make Drama: MAD\'

Wemade Max\'s subsidiary Wemade Connect has launched a new mobile subculture role-playing game, \'Make Drama: MAD\', in the South Korean market, it said on Wednesday. The title, developed by FluffyDuck, focuses on collecting and developing girl characters and features story-driven narratives, live-illustration animation and touch-response interaction systems. The launch version is rated for adults and is available on Google Play and One Store. The company also announced reward events and planned ongoing updates.
