Wemade Connect has confirmed the launch of a new subculture mobile title and is moving to target South Korea's girl-character game market in the first half of the year.
Wemade Max said on Thursday that the new subculture mobile RPG 'Make Drama : MAD', serviced by its subsidiary Wemade Connect and developed by Fluffy Duck, will be officially released in the South Korean market on June 4.
Pre-registrations, carried out since May 4 through Google Play, Apple's App Store, One Store and the official website, surpassed 500,000 participants in about 25 days after the promotion began. As a result, all users who took part in the pre-registration will receive items including the 3-star character 'Elysia', character summon tickets and in-game currency.
The release version will be offered with an adults-only rating to allow for greater flexibility in content expression. It will be released first on Google Play and One Store, then later expanded to Apple's App Store.
Since pre-registrations began, Wemade Connect has sequentially revealed character visuals and the game universe. It also opened an offline booth at the 'Illustar Fes' held at KINTEX in Ilsan on May 23 to 24 to strengthen touchpoints with users.
'Make Drama : MAD' is an RPG in which players collect and develop girl characters. Illustrator 'Snowball' participated as creative director to establish character design and visual identity.
It features a real-time combat system and applies animation direction based on live illustrations. It also plans to add interaction between users and characters through touch-response gimmicks and a character rapport system, and to provide an experience centered on story content.
Lee Jung-hoon (이정훈), CEO of Fluffy Duck, said, "This pre-registration result is the outcome of users empathising with the unique appeal of Make Drama : MAD and its differentiated content," adding, "We will continue stable service even after the official launch."
