SKT launches AI for Everyone consortium to link AI services across eight sectors

SK Telecom will step up development of “AI for Everyone” by working with specialist companies and institutions across eight sectors including finance, education, healthcare, small businesses and mobility. The company said it held the consortium’s launch event on Sept. 9 at its T Tower in central Seoul. The project aims to build an end-to-end execution agent that analyses user requests and situations, connects suitable AI models and specialist services, and carries out follow-up work.

Kim Bong-jin says Tada incident left psychological barrier to innovation, calls for startup regulatory reform

Kim Bong-jin, founding chair of the Korea Startup Forum and founder of Baemin, said the Tada incident left entrepreneurs with a psychological barrier to building innovative services. Former and current forum chairs, marking the group’s 10th anniversary, called for improvements to the startup regulatory environment, including a shift to negative regulation and the creation of a fair, open market for competition. They also urged continued dialogue with government and parliament to improve systems.

SKT joins Everyone\'s AI tender, pooling full-stack capabilities

SK Telecom has joined the government\'s tender for the \"Everyone\'s AI\" project led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency. SKT plans to use its in-house AI service, model and infrastructure capabilities, working with specialised firms to provide AI services across daily life and expand them using about 22.5 million mobile lines. It plans to launch an AI chatbot first and later expand into AI agents that handle tasks.
