Elice Group said on Wednesday it has completed trademark registration for its self-developed modular AI data center, PMDC.
Elice Group completed the PMDC trademark registration on Sept. 17. PMDC is a modular AI data center it designed in 2021, in which key facilities such as servers and power, cooling and networking are pre-fabricated at a factory and installed on site.
It is applying direct liquid cooling (DLC) and hot-water cooling technologies to cope with heat generated by high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs).
Elice Group is combining PMDC with its self-developed AI cloud software, ECI, to provide integrated services from building data centers to operating and managing GPU clusters. It is currently building an edge AI data center in an industrial manufacturing complex in Busan.
It also plans to pursue an expansion of domestic AI infrastructure based on PMDC and to enter overseas markets. It plans to expand a business model that supplies AI computing resources produced in South Korea to the global market.
Kim Jaewon (김재원), CEO of Elice Group, said, "This trademark registration will serve as a turning point to strengthen PMDC's technological competitiveness and brand value and broaden our presence in AI infrastructure markets at home and abroad."
