Nvidia has forged a cooperation framework in Japan spanning national AI infrastructure, robotics and automobiles, linking the government and key manufacturers. CEO Jensen Huang visited Tokyo to confirm multiple projects connected to Japan’s physical AI strategy, including support for the state-backed AI developer Noetra. Tech group including Amazon, Apple and Google urges U.S. Senate to pass Clarity Act

The U.S. Consumer Technology Association (CTA), whose members include Amazon, Apple and Google, urged the U.S. Senate to quickly pass the Clarity Act, a digital asset market structure bill. Senator Cynthia Lummis publicly backed the measure, saying developers should not need lawyers to determine whether their code is legal. The bill would divide oversight between the SEC and CFTC, set standards for tokens and include protections for open-source developers and self-custody providers.

Japan to invest 100 trillion won in physical AI through 2040, make humanoid robots national strategy

The Japanese government has announced a large-scale investment plan to spend a total 10.5 trillion yen, about 100 trillion won, by 2040 to foster the physical AI industry. It aims to promote humanoid robots and automation as a national growth strategy to respond to labour shortages driven by low birth rates and population ageing. The investment will target 17 strategic industries designated by the government and expand R&D into a state-led programme.
