Clicks' first smartphone, the Communicator, will start shipping in December. IT outlet Engadget reported on Sept. 18 local time that Clicks will release the product about a year after unveiling it at CES 2026 and has raised some final specifications. The price will rise to $649 from $499 starting on Oct. 1.

The Communicator increases RAM to 12GB from the previously announced 8GB. Battery capacity also rises to 4,350 mAh from 4,000 mAh and supports more than 800 charge cycles. It comes with Android 17 and will offer software support through Android 20. The security update period is 5 years.

The product uses a design reminiscent of past BlackBerry phones. It includes a physical keyboard under a 4.03-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display and comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chip and 256GB of storage. It supports microSD expansion and also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The keyboard also supports touch input. Users can swipe the keyboard surface to scroll or move the screen. The spacebar also serves as a fingerprint sensor. Keyboard layouts are available in English QWERTY as well as French AZERTY, German QWERTZ, Korean and Arabic versions.

Clicks is positioning the Communicator as a secondary phone rather than a main handset competing with the latest flagships. It describes it as a second phone better suited for messaging and calls. It has a single 50-megapixel rear camera and a 24-megapixel front camera. Some Android apps may not be optimized due to the screen aspect ratio.

Current reservation holders can reserve the product at the existing price of $499. Reservation holders can now complete the configuration by choosing a color, keyboard layout and charging cover. Pre-orders are being taken on the company's website.
