KB Kookmin Bank signs linkage deal with Bank of Communications for China's national payment network

KB Kookmin Bank said it signed an agreement with the Bank of Communications Seoul yuan clearing bank to link with China’s national payment network at a conference in Seoul. The bank plans to expand its KB Star Banking overseas payment service to China as early as January. China is building a yuan QR payment system for foreigners led by NUCC. The two banks will jointly handle yuan settlement, while NUCC oversees domestic payment operations.

Samsung to launch Galaxy Z Trifold in South Korea at 3,590,400 won

Samsung introduces the Galaxy Z Trifold, a three-panel foldable smartphone that opens to a 10-inch screen and folds into a 6.5-inch bar-type device. It features a thin profile, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, a 200-megapixel camera and a 5,600mAh battery. The phone supports enhanced multitasking, Samsung DeX in tablet version and various AI functions. It goes on sale in South Korea on December 12 for 3,590,400 won.

Court ends Interpark Commerce rehabilitation procedure

A Seoul court has terminated Interpark Commerce’s rehabilitation proceedings, ruling that its liquidation value is higher than its value as a going concern. The firm failed to submit a rehabilitation plan by the court deadline. Interpark Commerce, which has been under court management without a buyer alongside Wemakeprice, could face a bankruptcy review once the decision becomes final. Wemakeprice was declared bankrupt last month after a large unpaid settlement incident, while Tmon ended its rehabilitation after a sale to Oasis.
