[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong (홍진주)] Apple is expected to unveil more than 15 new products this fall, including the iPhone 18 series, Macs, iPads, Apple Watches and smart home devices. Attention is focusing on its second-half product strategy as speculation rises about a possible launch of the first foldable iPhone, known as the "iPhone Ultra."

NineToFiveMac, an IT media outlet, reported on June 26 that Apple is preparing a major wave of launches this fall across its iPhone, Mac, iPad, wearable and home lineups.

The biggest change is a reshuffle of the iPhone lineup. Apple is expected to focus its lineup on premium models instead of a base iPhone 18 this year. A base iPhone 18 is being discussed as a possible release in early 2027 rather than this year.

The higher-end iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature a variable-aperture camera, a smaller Dynamic Island and new colors. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is also expected to reflect the same changes.

The most closely watched product is the "iPhone Ultra," believed to be Apple’s first foldable smartphone. Apple is being discussed as possibly moving beyond its strategy centered on bar-style smartphones and entering the ultra-premium foldable market in earnest.

The wearable lineup is also expected to be revamped. Apple Watch Ultra 4 is expected to add new health sensors and undergo design changes, and Apple Watch Series 12 is also expected to be unveiled. However, detailed specifications for Series 12 are not yet known.

In Macs, the desktop lineup is expected to be upgraded. The Mac mini is expected to be updated with models featuring M5 and M5 Pro chips. The Mac Studio is being discussed as possibly adopting the M5 Max and a new M5 Ultra chip. The iMac is expected to add a new color lineup.

In notebooks, the M6 MacBook Pro and a new MacBook Ultra are drawing attention. The M6 MacBook Pro is expected to be an upgrade focused on performance improvements. The MacBook Ultra was introduced as a new premium model featuring an OLED display and touch capability.

The iPad lineup is also expected to expand. The new iPad mini is expected to include an OLED display and an upgraded processor. An entry-level iPad is being discussed as possibly supporting Apple Intelligence features with an A18 chip.

Expansion of the smart home business is also notable. Apple plans to significantly strengthen its home lineup in line with upgrades to Siri AI features. A new Apple TV 4K is being discussed as possibly featuring an A17 Pro chip, Apple Intelligence support and a built-in camera. Release candidates also include a HomePad (or HomePod Touch) with a 7-inch touch display, HomePod 3 and HomePod mini 2.

Smart home accessories could also be introduced for the first time. An Apple security camera is expected to be the first Apple-branded smart home camera supporting HomeKit Secure Video. A video doorbell that uses Face ID to link with smart locks is also reported to be in development.

This new product strategy shows Apple is expanding the focus of its second-half business beyond a simple generational refresh, toward premium iPhones, its own silicon-based Macs and an AI smart home ecosystem.

If a first foldable iPhone and an expanded smart home device lineup materialise, Apple is expected to accelerate efforts to build an integrated ecosystem spanning AI and smart homes beyond a smartphone-centric business. NineToFiveMac said Apple’s release schedule for this fall is tightly packed, and predicted that the actual timing of announcements and product-by-product launch priority will be the biggest focus in the second half.
