Bitcoin could hit $150,000 in 2026; only Ethereum and Solana to survive among alts

Dragonfly managing partner Haseeb Qureshi said bitcoin could reach $150,000 in 2026, while its market dominance may gradually slip from about 59 percent. He sees 2026 as a year with both positive and negative forces, as institutional participation grows and real-world blockchain use expands, but differences widen between strong and overvalued projects. Baek Kyung-hoon sets 'AI basic society' goal for New Year

South Korea's Deputy Prime Minister and Science and ICT Minister Baek Kyung-hoon said the government will focus on realising an 'AI basic society' in the new year. He said the ministry aims to secure top-tier science and AI competitiveness, obtain a world-class proprietary AI model and speed AI adoption across key industries. He also pledged to advance K-Moonshot projects, foster next-generation technologies such as bio, quantum and fusion, strengthen digital security rules and expand AI-based regional innovation.

China's AI startup Z.ai seeks Hong Kong IPO on Jan. 8, aims to raise $560 million

China's AI startup Z.ai plans to pursue a Hong Kong stock market listing on Jan. 8. Through the IPO, Z.ai plans to raise $560 million at a valuation of $6.5 billion. The company is one of China's large language model developers and changed its name from Zhipu AI. It is known for developing the GLM series of LLMs and the video generation model Ying, and has secured investment from Tencent and Alibaba.
