KT Millie's Library is opening an interactive store where visitors can experience content from its platform, including books, webtoons and web novels, in an offline space.
On July 1, KT Millie's Library said it will run a pop-up store through July 9 at the 'KT Onmaji Flagship Store' in Seoul's Gwanghwamun, combining reading content with artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The event is arranged in conjunction with the Seoul International Book Fair and is designed to let users experience a range of content through participatory programmes and rest areas.
The pop-up store offers content that extends beyond e-books to webtoons and web novels. Its 'Me in a Genre' programme uses AI tendency analysis based on genres including novels, self-help, romance, fantasy and martial arts to find a suitable genre and gives visitors a chance to become the main character on a cover.
It will also run an in-house 'TetoX-Egen' tendency test on site. The 'Millie's Library Check-in' space will offer free viewing of a webtoon lineup including TetoX-Egen, Gungno, Unsimi and Disaster Girl, and a web novel lineup including Reasonable Attraction, That Life Was Originally Mine, Becoming a Legend as a Cook Soldier, Ants Have Enlightened, and The Retired Imperial Guard Is Too Strong.
Millie's Library will place tablets on site and run a lounge where visitors can freely read e-books, webtoons and web novels while taking a break. It will give Millie's Library Post-it notes to customers who complete all experiences, including a stamp tour.
Choi Chan-wook (최찬욱), head of marketing at Millie's Library, said the pop-up was arranged so that people can stop briefly in Gwanghwamun, where many pass through during busy daily routines, and enjoy a broad range of reading content. He said he hopes visitors will directly experience Millie's Library's content competitiveness spanning webtoons and web novels beyond e-books.
