South Korea's top court orders retrial in Hana Financial chair's hiring fraud case

Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo (함영주) was cleared of allegations of involvement in hiring irregularities following a Supreme Court ruling. On Jan. 29, the court quashed and remanded the part of the lower-court judgment on obstruction of business and dismissed all remaining appeals. Ham had earlier received a suspended prison sentence at an appeals court over the charge. Hana Financial said it respected and was grateful for the Supreme Court’s decision.
