JoyCity said on Jan. 29 it signed a publishing agreement for Project Imjin, a new massively multiplayer online role-playing game being developed by Red Ginkgo Games, an affiliate of Endream.

Under the agreement, JoyCity will handle domestic service and marketing for Project Imjin, and Red Ginkgo Games plans to focus on strengthening its development capabilities.

Project Imjin is a large-scale war MMORPG overseen by director Kim Tae-gon (김태곤), who is described as a master of strategy games with historical settings such as Imjinrok, Cheonha Jeil Geosang and Gunju Online.

Set during the Imjin War, it allows players to collect and develop 36 real-life commanders from the three kingdoms of Joseon, Japan and Ming. It also features multi-layered combat content such as naval battles and siege warfare using actual weaponry.

JoyCity plans to establish Project Imjin as a war MMORPG in the domestic market, drawing on know-how from successful war simulation games including Gunship Battle: Total Warfare and Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War.

Project Imjin is recruiting participants for its second alpha test through Red Ginkgo Games' official website through Feb. 9. The second alpha test was set up to review the game's completeness and new content based on feedback from the first test held in November.

The second alpha test will run from Feb. 10 to 17, and the game is scheduled for an official release in the first half of 2026 on mobile and PC platforms.
