As the e-commerce market between South Korea and China grows rapidly, sellers' import and export procedures are becoming increasingly complex. One company drawing attention for tackling the task with technology is BJ Logis, led by CEO Byungjun Jung (정병준), which has developed an IT-based import-export support system based on more than 20 years of logistics experience in China.
At the core of BJ Logis is an IT-based import-export support system. It combines experience gained from operating logistics infrastructure in China for more than 20 years with a self-developed smart logistics system. It automates the entire import-export process on a single platform, from product sourcing and ordering to inspection, shipping and customs clearance.
Jung said the company is focusing on solving opaque and complex Korea-China logistics processes that domestic sellers face with an IT solution. "Our goal is to become a business partner that helps sellers grow, not just a delivery service," he said.
BJ Logis' IT-based system operates in three key areas. The first is a purchasing agency service. Its AI automatic ordering system, linked to China's 1688 B2B platform, processes 100 purchases within 1 hour.
The second is logistics optimisation. Using a forwarder function that books shipping line containers directly, it removes intermediary transaction costs and provides competitive freight rates. The third is customs automation. It connects logistics and customs processes into one to shorten the time required for imports.
Another feature is that the entire process can be tracked in real time through customers' account pages. The company says sellers gain an environment in which they can manage complex import-export procedures transparently.
◆ Work efficiency improved by more than 80 percent, technology-based differentiation
Jung introduced BJ Logis' strength as technology. While existing logistics companies rely on manual work, BJ Logis analysed accumulated customer logistics data to push digital transformation and an AI transition. As a result, it improved work efficiency by more than 80 percent. Jung stressed that price transparency, fast processing and a digital environment that enables real-time tracking are its biggest strengths.
The company also stands out for customer-focused solution development. It provides a free product analysis tool to help sourcing on the China-based 1688 platform, cutting sellers' sourcing time. The company says customers who have grown from beginners into power sellers continue to use BJ Logis solutions without switching elsewhere, which it says demonstrates its technological capabilities.
External evaluation has also been positive. BJ Logis was selected as a startup company under the 2025 Startup-Centered University programme, supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startup and Entrepreneurship Development and hosted by Hanyang University, and was assessed as an excellent-performing company.
Jung said careful guidance from a dedicated manager and professional support from the lead institution allowed the company to focus solely on advancing its technology. He said the opportunity provided a major foothold for BJ Logis to leap into a logistics tech company.
◆ Moving to become a leader in AI transition
BJ Logis' mid- to long-term vision is to become a leading company in the AI transition of Korea-China logistics. It plans to upgrade all services it currently provides on an AI basis and build a platform in which sourcing, logistics and customs clearance are processed automatically with just a few clicks. Jung said the goal is to build an e-commerce ecosystem that reduces failure by creating an environment where sellers can focus only on sales.
A key point is its partnership with DianLeida, described as China's largest e-commerce data solution. BJ Logis, which is set to sign an exclusive domestic distribution contract in March 2026, is expected to evolve into an integrated platform that makes it easy even for sellers importing for the first time to proceed from sourcing to customs clearance. The solution is expected to be embedded in the BJ Logis application, making it usable regardless of time and place.
Jung cited ongoing customer communication and technological innovation as the backdrop to BJ Logis' growth. He said the company has identified needs and developed solutions through constant communication with customers, and that many customers who grew from beginners into power sellers have driven the company's growth, which he said proves it.
Jung said BJ Logis' philosophy is to grow together with customers' success, from beginner sellers to power sellers. He said the company will continue to roll out a more advanced IT system while listening closely to customers' voices.
BJ Logis said it has analysed that competition is intensifying as the Korea-China e-commerce market grows rapidly and anyone can participate easily. In such an environment, the importance of a reliable logistics partner and a platform that allows sellers to focus only on sales is growing. Jung said the company will create a new standard for Korea-China logistics by meeting this need with more than 20 years of local experience and its self-developed technology.
