SKC Q2 operating loss of 14.4 billion won narrows 79 percent year-on-year
SKC posted second-quarter sales of 645.4 billion won and an operating loss of 14.4 billion won, it said on Sunday. Sales rose 38.3 percent from a year earlier and the operating loss narrowed 79.0 percent. EBITDA was 29.1 billion won, about triple the previous quarter, remaining positive for a second quarter. The company completed a 1.16 trillion won rights issue and said net debt and leverage fell sharply.

Danal joins science ministry project to expand deposit token payment infrastructure
Danal will build online and offline payment infrastructure based on deposit tokens in connection with the Bank of Korea’s central bank digital currency pilot, Project Hangang. The company aims to use existing payment networks to reduce merchants’ system-building burden while improving settlement cycles and payment fees. Danal was selected to join a 2026 blockchain innovation project led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency.

The commission said some outlets lure customers with high subsidies and gifts that may not be provided during activation. It advised checking the seller and ensuring benefits are written into contracts.
