LG Uplus said on Thursday its device care product Phone Replacement Pass won the customer experience innovation award in the telecommunications category at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2026.
Phone Replacement Pass is a program that reduces repair costs and processing procedures when a smartphone is damaged or breaks down. It offers device replacement benefits to customers who meet certain requirements. It expands the existing My Way Phone Replacement service and can be used in connection with manufacturer support programs such as AppleCare and Samsung Care.
The award recognised efforts to simplify complicated compensation procedures in existing device insurance and improve convenience. LG Uplus built a system that links in real time the systems of manufacturers, insurers and global insurtech firm bolttech to provide services ranging from device protection to repairs and insurance services.
Phone Replacement Pass for the iPhone 18 supports repairs with a set deductible without limits on the number of repairs or coverage limits. The deductible is 40,000 won each for front and back screen damage. Other repairs and internal screen repairs for the iPhone Duo are 120,000 won. It also offers global repair support and a free battery replacement benefit if certain requirements are met.
Lim Hye-kyung (임혜경), head of pricing products at LG Uplus, said Phone Replacement Pass focuses on reducing customers' cost burdens and complicated processing procedures. She said the company will continue to look at inconvenience customers experience while using smartphones and improve its device care services.
